The ninth poem in the Moment Poetry collection is ‘Late Life Love’ by RC deWinter.
Late Life Love
We sit close but not yet touching,
burning in the magnificent decay of abstinence,
though we blush in our imperfections.
Time is a fierce tyrant, but,
burning in the magnificent decay of abstinence,
we long to be naked inside and out.
Time is a fierce tyrant but
an accomplished arsonist as well.
We long to be naked inside and out.
We’re dizzied by the felony of desire,
an accomplished arsonist as well.
We reach with trembling hands as
we’re dizzied by the felony of desire.
Though we blush in our imperfections,
we reach with trembling hands as
we sit close, but not yet touching.
