The tenth poem in the Moment Poetry collection is ‘A Sculpture Garden’ by Elisa Subin.
A Sculpture Garden
Lost in that nothing space between the front seats
or stuffed in the pocket of a worn coat
or crushed inside an old purse
or fallen behind the sofa
or
I gather each
Careful not to disturb
Their shape
A minor annoyance yesterday
Pick up your own tissues
Now a something else
I pause at the table by the mirror
A tissue touched with your lipstick
Tossed aside yesterday
When we leave
What we leave
A tissue, transforms,
That small thing we touched
Suddenly, a sculpture
